Two Week Argentina Itinerary – Wine Region

This itinerary is geared more towards wine lovers who want to visit Argentina’s top wine region.

Here is the breakdown of this itinerary:

Stop Where? How Long? Highlights
1
Buenos Aires
1-2 Days
Walking Tour, San Telmo Market, Recoleta Cemetery
2
Salta
4-5 Days
Rainbow Mountain, Salinas Grandes, Cafayate
3
Mendoza
3-4 Days
Maipu Valley, Winery Tours

Stop 1 - Buenos Aires

As this is a wine focused itinerary, spend your days in Buenos Aires going wine tasting and visiting vineyards.

Stop 2 - Salta

Spend a couple of days in the city before exploring the region. Most people rent a car and do this on their own terms.

Here’s where to spend the other days:

  • Argentina has a second rainbow mountain hiding away in the town of Humahuaca. El Hornocal or the 14 Coloured Mountain is an impressive site.
  • Salinas Grandes is Argentina’s very own salt flat and well worth a visit if you can’t make it to Salar de Uyuni.
  • El Cafayate is a must-visit for wine lovers. Located within the Calchaqui Valley, it’s one of the world’s highest suitable locations for growing grapes.

Day 10-13 - Mendoza

Mendoza is Argentina’s number one wine producing region with over 1,200 wineries and vineyards in the surrounding area.

Argentina Itineraries

How many days do you need in Argentina? Whether it’s 7 days, 3 weeks or 1 month, I’ve created pre-made itineraries to suit every schedule and traveler.

Check out these posts to help you plan a hassle-free trip:

How Much Will Two Weeks In Argentina Cost?

Two weeks in Argentina  should cost you around $1200-1800.

However, this will vary depending on the itinerary you choose. For example:

  • Two Weeks In the Wine Regions – $1200
  • Two Weeks Patagonia – $1500
  • Two Weeks (Iguazu & Patagonia) – $1800

The more flights included in your itinerary, the more expensive it will be.

Also the north of Argentina is relatively cheap compared to Patagonia which will cost more due to it’s popularity.

“We ended up with a better itinerary than anything a travel agent suggested – and without the expensive price tag!
